Portland 98

These pictures were taken at the 98 Portland Show. They will give anyone
that has never been a general overview of the show. To those that have
been, let's have a good year and, hopefully all will be back in 99.

These pictures were made a few miles north of Portland in the Amish area

The Amish People in this area live on narrow unpaved roads. The farms are well kept as indicated
by the pictures. The houses and barns are large indicating to me that these people are well off. Also
the houses do not have electricity. When I took the picture of the barn, the owner came out of the   house to get a drink of water but quickly disappeared. It is my understanding that these people don't want their pictures made. The general store was located at this farm. Like the house, there wasn't any electricity. This store had all kinds of baked goods, pies, cakes, canned goods, etc.

To sum up: We had  delightful trips to the Air Force Museum in Dayton, Oh. and visiting the Amish area north of Portland.
