A: Yes. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: Does the Surname Suggestion List software work with the Macintosh? A: No, there are currently no plans to do so. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: When I click on the program, the screen does nothing and freezes. I cannot type anything in. The program stays on the Morris surname. A: You have not downloaded the program and installed it. You are trying to run the program by clicking on the sample screen. Download and install the program and you will be fine. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------Registration
--------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: I have sent in a donation, but I still have program restrictions. A: Look in your email inbox for an email titled "Surname Suggestion List software". Follow the instructions listed in the email to remove the restrictions. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: I have sent in a donation and I am a registered user, can I download the most recent version of the software for free? A: Yes, that is one of the benefits of registering. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: How often do you update the software? Do I need to re-register the software after downloading the latest version? A: The frequency of the updates varies, but I try to update the software monthly. There is no need to re-register the software after you have registered it the first time. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: I am a registered user. I bought a new computer and want to install the software on it, but I lost the registration codes. What can I do? A: Email Matt Combs and I will resend the registration codes once I verify your registration information. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: I am a registered user, can I share the registration codes with my friends? A: No. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: I am a registered user, can I load and register the software on more than one computer that I personally own? A: Yes. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: Can I use the Surname Suggestion List software at my business? A: No, the software is licensed only for private, non-commercial, non-business use. How can I remove the donation request? A: You can donate by going to the donate page. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: I would like to support the development of the software, but I cannot afford to donate. A: If you have not registered the software, the number of searches you can do per day is based upon how long you have had the software installed. 0-4 days 12 searches 5-9 days 8 searches 10-14 days 5 searches 15+ days 2 searches Registered Unlimited searches --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: Can I search for surnames using wildcards? A: No. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: When I click on the Google Search button, I didn't find any websites that I didn't already find before. Is there something I can do? A: Check the Wider Search box at the bottom left of the screen before clicking on the Google Search button. You will get a much larger list of results. I'm pretty sure you will find something new in these results. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: I have surname variations which do not show up in the results lists? A: Please email Matt Combs with the surname information. I will look into adding your surnames to the next release of the software. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: Other surnames show up in the results lists and I don't believe they should be there? A: Please email Matt Combs with the surname information. I will look into determining why the surnames are matching. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: Can I have a copy of your entire database of names? A: No. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: Is there any way you can send just send me the Surname Variations for my surname without my needing to install the software?
