Who

Founding

The Alamance Bagpipers was founded on October 2, 2005 by Charles Roberson, Ted Allan, Lee Atkinson and Jeremy Atkinson. The club's purpose is to provide a weekly gathering for Bagpipers of all ages and those interested in Bagpipe music. This is an informal gathering in that there are no required meetings or dues for the members. We are open to anyone in the area and all visitors to the area.

If you wish to be a regular member and live outside of Alamance county that is fine by us. So, there are no geographical restrictions.

We are not a Bagpipe band and do not expect anyone to join one. If you are a member of a band that is fine but not a requirement. One could think of our meetings as "jam sessions". We play the chanter and the Bagpipes at these sessions/meetings. We are interested in all Bagpipe music regardless of its geographic origin (Scottish, Irish, ....). Also, we offer assistance to anyone wishing to get started on the Bagpipes.
