1. That according to PlacesNamed.com, the name Keiger ranks 62,912 as the most common last name in the United States. Drop the "e" and the Kiger surname moves up to 6,861 in popularity. The most popular name in our bloodline seems to be Geiger, which ranks 1,896.

2. There is a Kiger - Keiger family reunion held every year at the Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church in Tobaccoville, NC. The reunion is a covered dish event and is open to all "Kiger Kousins". Please use our contact form to request more information. Reunion is held the first Sunday of June at 1:00PM.

3. Historical records indicate Johan Adam Geiger (1736-1827) was the first member of our family lineage to arrive in America from Germany.

4. The Nazareth Church of Rural Hall, NC was originally known as "The Old Dutch Meeting House". This church holds a great deal of history for the Kiger - Keiger families as quite a few of our relatives belonged to the church and are now buried there.

6. There is a beautiful wilderness area known as Keiger Gorge located on Steens Mountain in Oregon.

7. There was a law firm called Geiger and Geiger located in the North Tower of The World Trade Center. CNN reports they occupied almost 1600 square feet on the 4th, 25th and 78th floors. We do not know the status of anyone who may have worked for this firm.
