Date The Honorable [full name] United States Senate Washington, DC 20510 The Honorable [full name] United States House of Representatives Washington, DC 20515 Dear Representative [or Senator] [last name] : I urge you to support America's Redrock Wilderness Act. Not only is this bill supported by people all over the country who have seen and spent time in Utah's wild areas, but it is the proposal which has received the most support from the people of Utah. [Examples of points to make in your letter:] * America's Redrock Wilderness Act is the culmination of 15 years of study, discussion and public hearings involving hundreds of individuals, organizations, and agencies. * Utah citizens carefully chose the areas this bill will protect after assessing the wilderness potential and the scenic, recreational, wildlife, and cultural values of these lands. * The recent re-inventory conducted by the BLM validates what citizens across the country have been saying for the past decade: There are at LEAST 5.8 million acres of wilderness in Utah. * Millions of Americans and people from throughout the world visit the public lands in Utah every year to explore the ancient ruins of the Anasazi, to hike, raft, bike, hunt, and fish. * Wilderness protection of this kind will contribute significantly to the recreation and tourism-based industries that are an important part of Utah's regional economy. Support for the Utah citizens' proposal, America's Redrock Wilderness Act, will ensure that the ecological, aesthetic, and historical value of these lands will be preserved for us and for future generations. I look forward to hearing from you soon about this important issue. Thank you,
