09/15-17 5th Annual Family-Oriented Living History and Reenactment Allison's Woods / Statesville, NC Lantern tour Saturday at dusk. Battles Saturday and Sunday. Early morning tactical leading into Sunday battle. Living history exhibits. Authentic camp tours, 1860s fashion show and competition, ladies tea with the generals. Period church service, speakers, sutlers, children’s activities, Civil War Bingo, bluegrass music and social Saturday night. 10/21-22 Battle of Cedar Creek Cedar Creek Battleground, VA The Cedar Creek Battlefield Foundation and Belle Grove Plantation will host a military reenactment of the Battle of Cedar Creek. The Frederick Ladies Relief Society, a group of living history interpreters, will describe 1861 social history at Belle Grove Manor House. 11/04-05 Battle of Fort Branch Fort Branch, Hamilton, NC Presented by the 1st North Carolina Volunteers/11th North Carolina. Seven original cannons on site. Federals needed to capture the fort. Registration begins at noon. Usual amenities. Activities include spectator battle, evening meal and dance Saturday and morning tactical and church service Sunday. All proceeds go to Fort Branch preservation and restoration.
