To the Sheriff of Surry County …..Greeting:

WHEREAS David Reavis instituted a suit before a Justice of the Peace against Andrew Axsom & Joseph Steelman Administrator of Joseph Axsom deceased, and on the 27 day of September -1834, obtained a judgment before James Clanton Esq., for the sum of nine dollars, and 60 cents, with interest on the same from 27 day of September 1834 with 80 cents cost: Whereupon the said Administrator pleaded no assets in hand, former Judgments, debts of higher dignity,

 The said warrant, judgment, and pleas were returned into our County Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions, held for said county, at the Court-House in Rockford , on the second Monday of (strikeover) May 1835, by James Clanton and was truly entered of record, when the plaintiff appeared by Attorney John M. Cloud, and admitted the pleas to be true.  On Motion, it was ordered by the Court that a Scire Facias issue to the heirs of said Joseph Axsom dec’d.

 You, the Sheriff, are therefore hereby commanded to make known, according to law, unto the Martin Axsom, Samuel Axsom, Andrew Axsom, Samuel Wilkins & Polly his wife, Joseph Reavis & Elizabeth his wife, James Sprinkle & Nancy his wife, Anderson McBride & Nelly his wife and Francis K. Armstrong guardian pendente lite to Joseph Axsom, James Axsom, Alexander Axsom infants and minors (strikeover)

Heirs at Law of the said Joseph Axsom deceased, that they appear at our next Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions, to be held for said county, at the Court-House in Rockford, on the Second Monday in August next; and then and there shew cause, if any they have, why the said David Reavis shall not have execution against the lands and tenements of the said deceased, which they severally own, and is now in their possession, as Heirs at Law of said Joseph Axsom deceased, or so much thereof as will be of value sufficient to satisfy the above judgment, and all the former cost, as well as the cost  up to this writ.  Herein fail not, and have you then and there this writ.
