Welcome to the Axsom Family Page! This page is devoted to preserving the Axsom family history and to sharing that history with present and future Axsom descendants and related families.
I research all the descendants of our earliest known ancestor, Joseph H. Axsom. Joseph was born about 1778 and died in Surry County, North Carolina, in 1833. Joseph married Nancy May around 1803. Joseph and Nancy had ten known children: Martin, Samuel David, Mary "Polly," Andrew, Elizabeth, Penelope "Nellie," Nancy E. "Mandy," Joseph H., Jr., James S. and Alexander.
The Axsom family genealogical database includes 5000+ descendants, 3,000+ spouses, and in many cases, the parents of spouses. However, with consideration for the privacy of living descendants, only the First Four Generations of the Axsom family will be presented here.
Axsom research is ongoing - past and present. As births, marriages, deaths, and other life events are recorded, it is my hope that the Axsom family database will serve as a living testament to past, present, and future generations of people who have lived, loved, and died - joined by the common bond of family.
